Marian Elliott Excellence in Education Teacher Grants

The Marian Elliott grants were a result of a generous endowment from former District 25 teacher, Marian Elliott to benefit District 25 students, teachers, and administrators. Ms. Elliott’s intent for the use of the funds was “to support teacher grants for enhancing student learning experiences.”

Marian Elliott began her teaching career in Arlington Heights at North School Park and continued teaching in several District 25 schools for 41 years until she retired in 1981. Ms. Elliott was a dedicated educator, known for her ability to connect with her students as well to mentor younger teachers.

Marian was active professionally in speech and teaching organizations. She was the head of District 25 speech department and a member of the special education advisory team. We hope that the Marian Elliott Excellence in Education Teacher Grants honor this devoted teacher.

The Marian Elliot funds expired after the 2023 school year.

5th Grade Reenactment Program

ABC/25 contributed funds to bring a Revolutionary War reenactment group to the field at Olive Mary Stitt. Overnight, they transform our suburban field into a working replica of a Revolutionary War-era camp. All fifth-grade students in District 25 took part in exploring what life was like for the soldiers, men, women, and children during the Revolutionary War.
